π² Teacher’s Overview
Cycling & Bicycles β Spot the Differences (A1βB2)
This lesson uses two cycling pictures to develop English from A1 to B2.
Students begin with basic bicycle vocabulary and simple picture observation. At higher levels, the lesson moves naturally into cycling safety, planning trips, transport choices, city planning, environmental issues, debate and creative thinking.
The same picture set is used throughout, but the language, thinking and communication demands increase at each level.

π‘ Teaching Tip
The bicycle vocabulary is particularly useful for beginners, so don’t feel that students need to know all the words before starting.
Let them look, guess, point and describe first.
For stronger students, encourage them to move beyond simply naming bicycle parts. Ask them to explain why something is useful, what could go wrong, how cycling affects other people, and what could be improved.
This makes the same pictures useful across several levels without simply making the vocabulary more difficult.
