Greetings & Introductions
Perfect first lesson for absolute beginners (pre-A1/A0) who know almost no English.
Goal: Learn basic greetings, names, and “How are you?” with gestures, repetition, and visuals.
2 PDFs – Quick Overview
- PDF 1 (1 page): Warm-up song/gestures, Hello Circle game, My Name Is… practice, Name Game.
- PDF 2 (3 pages):
- Page 1: Teacher instructions for “How Are You?” & Goodbye, pair practice, Goodbye Game, picture matching, mini role-play.
- Pages 2–3: Big, clear flashcards (HELLO, HI, GOODBYE, HOW ARE YOU?) — print and laminate for reuse.
Tips
- Speak slowly, repeat 5 times.
- Use big gestures, smiles, thumbs up.
- Praise every try (“Good job!”, clap/cheer).
- If shy, let students point/whisper/smile first.
- Keep energy high — clap, cheer, smile!
Print PDF 2 pages 2–3 as flashcards. Use them to point, say the word, and repeat.
