This is the next step after “A B C – Alphabet”.

Focus: Letter sounds (phonics), simple words (cat, dog, sun), and blending.

Use only when students recognize letters A–Z.

Duration: 45–60 min 

2 PDFs – Quick Overview

  • PDF 1 (2 pages): Warm-up chant/gestures + Sound Circle game + First Words model + Matching Game + Pair Practice. 
  • PDF 2 (1 page): Simple Blending & Mini Role-Play + Picture Flashcards instructions + Homework + Teacher Tips.

Tips

  • Speak very slowly. Repeat everything 5 times. 
  • Use big gestures, smiles, thumbs up. 
  • Praise every try (“Good job!”, “Excellent!”, clap/cheer). 
  • If shy, let students point/whisper/smile first. 
  • Keep energy high — clap, cheer, smile a lot!

Print PDF 1 page 2 as flashcards (laminate if possible). Use them for pointing, saying, and matching.
