Public Transport – Spot the Differences (A1–B2)
This lesson uses two public transport pictures to develop English skills from A1 to B2.
Students begin with simple transport vocabulary, observation and basic descriptions. As the levels increase, they move into everyday communication, problem solving, opinions, city transport and more extended speaking.
The same pictures are used throughout the four levels, but the language demands and activities change considerably.

💡 Teaching Tip
Don’t rush straight into finding the differences.
Give students a little time to explore the picture first. Ask what they can see, what the different vehicles are used for and which types of transport they use themselves.
For lower-level students, this introduces useful vocabulary before the activities begin.
For higher-level students, the picture can become a starting point for real conversation about transport in their own cities.
And, naturally, somebody will have a very strong opinion about buses. 😄
