Halloween Night – Spot the Differences is a fun picture-based ESL lesson built around two Halloween scenes with 10 differences to find. Activities progress from simple Halloween vocabulary and picture description at A1 to storytelling, opinions, cultural discussion and debate at B1–B2.

Students practise basic Halloween vocabulary, colours and simple picture descriptions while finding differences between the two pictures. Most activities can be done orally, in pairs or as short written exercises.

Students move beyond vocabulary into describing positions, actions and events. Encourage students to use complete sentences when discussing the pictures and explaining the differences.
